Becoming

I am a beam of light Traveling from a distant star. I am a grain of sand washed up on the shore, I am a blade of grass bending beneath your feet. I am the seed holding the future locked safely in my cells. I am the pistil waiting, waiting. And I am the stamen, pollen laden, swelling until that moment of release. I am a second. passing in the blink of an eye. Watch me stretch, into forever.

A Surprising Shaman's Journey

I’ve been rehabbing from hip replacement surgery.  I have always been a very active person who is used to experiencing the world through my body. Understanding the necessity of this surgery was a 2 ½ year journey while I tried to heal myself using a variety of spiritual and healing modalities.  But circumstances prevailed and in the end I remembered that sometimes and orange is just an orange.  And sometimes allopathic medicine is exactly the solution needed. I bowed to reality and went to the hospital. My new hip and I were back home 2 ½ days later. So here I have been, moving from surgery to walker to crutches to a single crutch to a cane, all the while wondering when I will be strong enough to walk on my own two legs again. The most heartening part has been those who sent healing energy or visited or helped out, from keeping me company to giving my partner respite from caretaking me. We are so very grateful. At the recent Full Moon gathering I described the

Courting Silence

We’ve been harvesting peaches and early pears this week, waiting for tomatoes and peppers to ripen in this long, slow summer of extremes.  The waiting offers a sense of gestation. begging the question, “How can we recognize when is the time ripe?”  With tomatoes it’s pretty easy to recognize ripeness.  But during important decisions or conversations it can be harder.  So we wait and learn to listen with our hearts, asking “When is the time ripe?’ Waiting for the ‘Time to be Ripe’, is a skill we work towards as we step into our personal power; seeking to be all we truly can be.  Allowing life to unfold within us and around us, taking the time to notice its fullness is a skill not supported in our society.  It’s a skill we can court as a lover courts a shy beloved. As with any courtship we can take it slowly or we can try to sweep our beloved off of her proverbial feet.  But the courtships that last into deep and fulfilling relationships tend to choose the former.

Full Moon Tonight invite Her Glory into Your Life!

Enjoy tonight’s Full Moon.  It’s in the sign of Aquarius, the water bearer, sometimes considered the most oceanic, most radical sign of the zodiac.  Take some time this evening to go outside, open your heart and listen to whatever message the Moon offers you. This is truly the way of magick; being in nature, grounding between earth and sky, opening and listening.  And if hear a message, follow what it says. Afterwards, give thanks for the information you received.  It will encourage more messages to come to you. Enjoy!

A Seedpod Bursts Open

Welcome to my new website/blog.  Here I will share thoughts and opinions that I hope will intrigue you, or perhaps bring you to new openings or questions.  Like a ripe seedpod bursting open, I announce my growing counseling practice.  My passion for working with others on their spiritual path has evolved through the years and become central to my life. For 30 years I was a business owner, landscape designer and laborer, living on a mountain top in rural Massachusetts.  For the most part, service to the Goddess and to Spirit was my personal journey.  But coming to Ontario I felt a greater desire to serve others. So I pulled out my old and somewhat rusty M.Ed. and polished it to a bright, shiny star and placed it at the apex of my firmament.  When I took a good look at the twists and turns my path has taken since my student days of the mid-1970’s, I found that a strong thread connects my new work to passions that were always present. Years of workshops and s
